Screen Shot 2014-07-10 at 8.52.00 AMSt.Vincent Heart Center has received the Mission: Lifeline® Gold Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association (AHA) for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks. Hospitals involved in Mission: Lifeline are part of a system that makes sure STEMI patients receive the right care they need, as quickly as possible. Each year in the United States, approximately 250,000 people have a STEMI, or ST-segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction, caused by a complete blockage of blood flow to the heart that requires timely treatment. Mission: Lifeline focuses on improving the system of care for these patients and at the same time improving care for all heart attack patients.

As a leading provider of cost-saving healthcare solutions, Truven Health Analytics ranked St.Vincent Heart Center in the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals based on factors including mortality rate, 30-day readmission rate, rate of complications, average cost and length of stay. It’s the fifth time St.Vincent Heart Center has been recognized with this award.

BDC_Cardiac_BCBSThe St.Vincent Heart Center has been recognized as a Blue Distinction Center® by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield for delivering quality cardiac care. Blue Distinction Centers demonstrate better quality and improved outcomes for patients, with lower rates of complications for certain cardiac procedures as compared with their peers. Criteria for Blue Distinction Centers is based on objective, transparent benchmarks that have been developed with input from the medical community.

The American Heart Association has recognized the St.Vincent Heart Center 86th Street campus with their Mission: Lifeline Silver Receiving Award. This award recognizes our ministry for achieving 85 percent or higher composite adherence to all Mission: Lifeline STEMI Referral Center Performance Achievement indicators for a consecutive 12-month interval, and 75 percent or higher compliance on all Mission: Lifeline STEMI Referral Center quality measures to improve the quality care for STEMI patients.

 

St.Vincent Heart Center was the first hospital in the state to receive the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines—Coronary Artery Disease (GWTG-CAD) Gold Performance Achievement Award in December 2007. The award recognizes St.Vincent’s commitment to and success in implementing a higher standard of cardiac care that improves treatment for patients with coronary artery disease, with 24 consecutive months of at least 85% of eligible coronary patients discharged following AHA treatment guidelines. Prior to winning the Gold Performance Achievement Award, St.Vincent received the Bronze Performance Achievement Award for compliance with guidelines over a 90-day period; and the Silver Performance Achievement award for meeting the same criteria for 12 consecutive months.

 

St.Vincent Heart Center received the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 Cardiac Care Excellence Award from HealthGrades, America’s leading healthcare ratings company, as well as the Coronary Interventions Excellence Award (2008 – 2012). St.Vincent Heart Center has also been ranked #1 in Indiana for Cardiology Services for 8 Years in a Row (2006-2013) and #1 in Indiana for Coronary Interventional Procedures for 7 Years in a Row (2006-2012). Find out more here.

 

Thomson Reuters has recognized the 86th Street and 106th and North Meridian Street campuses of St.Vincent Heart Center in with the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals award for 2012. The study identified 50 hospitals that achieved superior clinical outcomes. St.Vincent Heart Center is the only hospital in Indiana recognized with this award. Find out more here.

In 2010, St.Vincent Heart Center at 106th Street was recognized with the Press Ganey Summit® award for being a top performing facility that continues to “sustain the highest level of customer satisfaction for three or more consecutive years.”

For over 25 years, Press Ganey has been a recognized leader in improving outcomes for more than 10,000 health care organizations throughout the U.S. Each year, Press Ganey recognizes health organizations that have ranked in the 95th percentile or above in the Press Ganey database for a minimum of three consecutive years, while also demonstrating a dedication to excellence in quality of care and patient satisfaction.

St.Vincent Heart Center has received the UnitedHealth Premium specialty center designation in recognition of quality care. The UnitedHealth Premium designation means that our patients can depend on St.Vincent Heart Center for conscientious, reliable cardiac care.

UnitedHealthcare® developed the UnitedHealth Premium specialty center program to give its members information and access to hospitals meeting rigorous quality criteria. The designation is based on detailed information about specialized training, practice capabilities and outcomes, and is designed to help members make informed decisions should they need cardiac care.
